Meet our Characters - We like to call them Sock Stars!

Mr. Blue

Mr. Blue is a men’s dress sock. He misses his wife and he feels quite lonely. He’s pretty conservative and close-minded in his point of view. He’s made of fine Egyptian cotton. He’s a bit of a snob but we learn that he only acts that way because he feels insecure. Like all of us he’s a real “softy” underneath it all.

Super Sam

Super Sam is definitely the Rock Star of this Children's Book! He's the dude that created his own "Sock Star" friends.  He's is a very creative young boy with a vivid imagination. We learn that he’s fashionable as well. He has just the right cape for every occasion. His big brother can be a bully sometimes but Sam learns to deal with that. Nondiscrimination is within Sam's heart. He's sensitive and caring so he sets out to save the world one unmatched sock at a time!

Recycled Ricky

Recycled Rickey is a sock made of 100% recycled materials. He practices yoga and meditates daily. He soft spoken and doesn’t say much but when he’s in the room everyone else just seems to feel more comfortable and at ease. He’s green in color of course. This is one spiritually enlightened sock!

Dottie

Dottie is a little girl’s sock. She’s very cute and if you don’t notice her cuteness right away she’ll quickly make sure that you do. She is white with pretty pink polka dots. Sometimes she unknowingly blinks her eyelashes in a flirtatious way. She’s also a bit manipulative but we she discovers that she doesn’t need to be in order to have what she wants in life.

Jock The Sock

Jock The Sock is a white tube sock with a red and blue stripe. He looks a bit gray from getting soiled on the athletic field. At first he’s a little insecure about his position in life. As soon as he learns to stop comparing himself to others we get to see him find his personal power and self-confidence.

Suzie Sarong

Suzie Sarong is beautiful sarong. A sarong is a type of scarf worn in Indonesia. She’s quite a smooth character made of pure silk. She’s fully committed to her spiritual journey and living a life of integrity. She’s very sweet in an authentic way an others tend to gravitate towards that.

Ragged Rita

Ragged Rita is homeless but she has her husband, Patchy Paul. These are the only socks in our story that were not separated from their partner. They don’t have much but they have each other.

Patchy Paul

Patchy Paul, Rita’s husband, is a “salt of the earth” kind of guy. He doesn’t have much but he has Rita and he’s a pretty happy guy. He always ready to lend a hand and help others in need.

Argyle Gator

Argyle Gator is a men’s argyle sock. He’s a bit judgmental and abrasive. Some might say he’s a little “rough around the edges.” We discover this is really only because he gets fearful when he’s around others that are different from him. He’s got a good heart underneath that rough exterior.

Tie-Dyed Tammy

Tie-Dyed Tammy is a brightly colored tie-dyed sock. She digs yoga and not much bothers her. You could say that she’s kind of a laid-back hippie type. When she sees others not getting along she doesn’t try to fix it. She a very grounded and centered gal and this seems to somehow do the trick and diffuse the situation.

Righteous Righty

Righteous Righty is Loco Lefty’s mitten counterpart. They are complete opposites. She’s is a quiet intellectual who likes to spend time at home playing video games, reading, drawing and watching Harry Potter. She’s quite comfortable with herself so she doesn’t feel the need to judge or criticize others. This introverted extrovert has been known to happily refer to herself as “nerdy” or a technology “geek.”

Loco Lefty

Loco Lefty is a mitten with a “Type A” personality. He’s very outgoing and adventurous. He loves skateboarding and extreme sports like bungee jumping. He’s very straightforward and tends to “tell it like it is.” He’s madly in love but not with his mitten counterpart. His frustration over this leads him to be a bit abrasive at times but like any real man – he’s committed to getting in touch with his feelings.
